I was so excited to see a new installment in Lucy and Ash's romance. The first book in this series is one of my all-time favorite books. The second installment was not quite as good, but was a worthy read. Therefore, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the third book. I found Ash to be a clueless jerk. I actively disliked him during the entire book. He has cheated, drank, and been absent for a long period in his son's life. He blows into town and expects Lucy to forgive him. He never shows any remorse for his behavior. Lucy gets to hear from everyone in town how much he loves her, which is kind of sweet, but then I remembered that he drank, cheated on her, was absent from his son's life, and has shown no remorse for his behavior. At the end of the book, there's a scene at the bar and Ash doesn't act appropriately. I was dumbfounded that his character would do such a thing and the person he turns to for support after the incident was a shock. It seems Ash regressed since the first book. Perhaps, Ms. Moyer was showing how show business affected Ash, but I would have liked to have been pulling for him rather than wishing Lucy would divorce him.
