I purchased this book to read on my Kindle. Honestly, I was not sure what I expected but it was more than the 10 pages that the were written. The sighting reports have no detail and the author's theories and observations lack substance. The story had potential but it's almost as if the author was a 13 year old kid that was just trying to turn in a paper for credit. Either way, this "book" is not worth your time and certainly not worth your money.

Adrift in New York Review

Adrift in New York
Average Reviews:

Throughout the course of his extremely successful career, Horatio Alger rarely deviated from his traditional framework for his stories - until this one. Adrift In New York tells the story of a girl, struggling against the offer of a bigamous marriage and subsequently cast out by her guardian, and a boy, who discovers for the first time in his life that there is more to life than stealing and dishonesty. It is a wonderfully moral, yet at the same time superbly entertaining story, and one worth paying any amount to read.

"If he had died, I might, as you say, have become reconciled; but he was abducted at the age of four by a revengeful servant whom I had discharged from my employment. Heaven knows whether he is living or dead, but it is impressed upon my mind that he still lives, it may be in misery, it may be as a criminal, while I, his unhappy father, live on in luxury which I cannot enjoy, with no one to care for me----"Florence Linden sank impulsively on her knees beside her uncle's chair.

The Sailor's Book of Small Cruising Sailboats: Reviews and Comparisons of 360 Boats Under 26 Feet
Average Reviews:

This is a must buy for anyone searching for a small cruising sailboat or larger daysailor under 26' including most mid-sized trailer boats. The author has an extensive and admirable background in the field of monohull sail boats and shares his love for the hobby in this fine compilation exhibiting hundreds of sailboat specs and drawings. Many sailors have strong opinions about boats they've owned and loved but Henkel gives us the basic facts and leaves the fluff to the manufacturers brag sheets. Well presented and good for many hours of armchair sailboat research. Your eyes will be opened to many fine small boats you didn't know existed.
As an avid former catamaran sailor myself, beachcat sailors must know that a "cruising boat" and small catamarans are two completely different beasts. The title of this fine work says it all so don't expect what it doesn't promote. Fair winds.
Michael

The Moulin Huge Review

The Moulin Huge

Most readers never want a good story to end and that's the way I felt about "Moulin Huge," Mr. Ward's attention-geting debut novel. The characters are both funny and interesting and I couldn't wait to see how their stories would play out. The ending is a shocker and I highly recommend this work by a new star on the literary scene. Congratulations to Mr. Ward on this hilarious and poignant tale of three friends who stick together through thick and thin...no matter what happens and somehow manage to accept what life offers on their own terms.

You can't help but fall into the flow of this story of Evan, Lloyd and Diva. Poor Evan wants to be a performer, even if he has to do it in drag. Oh, wait, he WANTS to do it in drag. Lloyd teaches school by having the kids watch soap operas and drives around with his pants off in pursuit of sexual hijinks. Diva is a Hollywood star with a split in her personality that rivals the Cumberland Gap. She has a Hollywood bigwig wooing her, and her personalities can't agree on the outcome. They all follow the yellow-brick road ... okay, it's probably just regular pavement ... to a trailer park in Niceville, Florida, for Evan to make his performance debut as Lowla. Not for the gay-paranoid but a well-crafted plot spiced with a lot of laughs for everyone else. More than a comedy, though, as the characters all show their darker, unhappier sides too.

after purchasing Ron Adams previous book 100 years of semi trucks
I was confident this latest offering would be a worthy addition to my, or any ardent truck enthusiasts book collection.
I was not dissapointed!
If you are familiar with Rons previous work you will enjoy the many photos, and good quality ones at that, included in Big Rigs of the 1950's accompanied with his usual short but interesting
brief history and comments.
Big Rigs covers all main manufacturers as well as a few lesser known brand documented in mostly black and white shots, but theres enough color plates (approx 73) to bighten up the book.
All photos are of a good size.
If you are an avid truck photographer or enthusiast of either new
or older trucking history ,in this case American, you will
appreciate this book.

The continued improvement of roadways and the dawn of the Interstate highway system in the 1950s was a boon to American industry in general and the trucking industry in particular. Railways no longer represented the only practical means of transporting goods from town to town and state to state. This marque-by-marque photo collection provides a comprehensive and nostalgic look back at the rapid development of tractor-trailer rigs which resulted during the decade of Ike and tailfins. Manufacturers like GMC, Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, White, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Diamond T, International, Mack, Autocar, Brockway, Sterling and more are shown hauling everything from Cadillacs to cabbage across town, up the coast and over mountain passes. Thorough captions describe the development and history of each model depicted in archival black-and-white and period color photography.

Good Book! March 12, 2006
Mike in Seattle
The one thing wrong with this book is the blurb on the front cover. It should read "Everything You Really Need to Know..." But, the disservice is done to the author--not to readers. It is not possible to tell everything that everyone might need to know in order to do something. What this book does tell is what anyone who is even contemplating restoring a sailboat had better know. It is far more than an overview of the author's own project though, Rather than just hitting the highlites, it covers e-v-e-r-y important point to keep in mind for the project from beginning to end. I have worked with hand tools for more than forty years, and it still gave me some pointers!
There is one thing peculiar about the book. Women, can't seem to keep their hands off it. My wife and her girl friend both liked the book. As if that wasn't strange enough, I took the book with me to my doctors office, and ended up checked into the emergency ward. At one point, I woke up to find my nurse looking through the book. Well, I guess that might be helpful for a guy trying to talk his wife into such a project, but it seemed kind of odd. I asked, and apparently they simply like the way the guy thinks.

Find a small cruising sailboat and restore it to pristine condition on a budget that won't sink your budget

Small, trailererable cruising sailboats are more popular than ever as mooring spaces dwindle and marina dockage and winter storage costs soar. Fix It and Sail helps you discover boatloads of fun far less than a single ski weekend or golf club membership. Veteran sailor and journalist Brian Gilbert shows you how to select and inspect a boat, then restore it from keel to rigging.

Gilbert's clear, step-by-step instructions guide you through every phase of the restoration process from repairing keels, hulls, ports, and cabins to painting, wiring, and sealing. You'll learn how to evaluate, repair and replace hardware, upholstery, canvaswork, and more. Profusely illustrated appendices give you a vivid picture of the costs, tasks, and labor involved in an actual restoration project.

Big Rigs on the Move (Lightning Bolt Books: Vroom-Vroom) Review

Big Rigs on the Move (Lightning Bolt Books: Vroom-Vroom)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Are you one of those people who loves to have a big rig HONK, HONK at you? If so this might be the perfect book for you. Big rigs are working trucks and they can go by many names such as "semitrailers, tractor-trailers, or eighteen-wheelers." These trucks carry many different kinds of cargo. They can carry anything from horses to houses. Perhaps you've seen an auto carrier with all sorts of cars traveling behind its cab or, if you're lucky, you may have even seen a big rig towing other big rigs. Flatbed trucks like loggers can "tow up to 60,000 pounds (17,215 kilograms)." Amazing, isn't it?
Some big rigs are refrigerated and if you look closely you can see the refrigeration unit behind the cab. A really "cool" thing is that big rigs "have two parts." In the front there is the tractor and in the back is the trailer where the cargo is stowed. You can check out pictures of the fifth wheel and the landing gear. Of course these working trucks are meant to "go wherever there are roads." In this book you'll be able to see them traveling in the quiet countryside, over a busy suspension bridge, and trucking through snow. You'll learn what a runaway truck ramp is, how truckers can call for help, what kind of fuel they use, you'll learn about truck stops, how many wheels they have, and more. Do you know how many wheels most big rigs have?
This is the type of book that any youngster who is into "mighty machines" is going to love. The full color photographs on every page will keep the big rig lover entertained for quite some time as they examine each and every rig. In the back of the book is a "Big Rig Diagram." The diagram is meant for the young truck lover and does not mention things such as an air dam or more complicated things such as a fifth-wheel coupling, but does point out parts such as the bumper, mirrors, and headlights. Additionally there is an index, a glossary, some "Fun Facts, and a few recommended books and a website to explore. If you have a youngster who can't resist waving at every big rig they see, this is one book you might have to consider!

Trailer Park Confessions: DOUBLE WIDE EDITION Review

Trailer Park Confessions: DOUBLE WIDE EDITION
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After reading negative reviews on this title, I've decided to revise my review just a bit.
First off, it's not SUPPOSED to have a strong story plot as this is not your typical novel. I mean, just look at the cover!
If you enjoy reading explicit gay sex stories of hot encounters, then this is the book for you. Even if you don't, there are a few chapters that are still funny yet not sexual. Most of these pertain to hill billy family members. My favorite one of this is "My Cousin the Cannibal". I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard.
My favorite "sex" chapter is without a doubt, "I Gave a Soldier Fireworks on July Fourth". I literally have to take a cold shower after that one.
Just remember this when you read this book.... Have an open mind. If you take it literally, it will just make you mad.
I feel only people with weak sense of humors will not like this book.

Nancy moves into a new house and discovers a diary in her closet. From the first page to the last, she is captivated and mesmerized by the sordid, disgusting stories written in it. She wonders who the diary belonged to and where it came from, but discovers it doesn't even matter because it is too hilarious! Married soldiers cheating on their wives with other men, dirty secrets, cannibal cousins, toothless family members and erotic homosexual encounters are all included in this action-packed fiction novel. This deluxe, "double wide" edition contains even MORE sordid stories and bonus material, including an interview with a married soldier! Relax, it's just fiction!
What readers are saying about Brian Gibson. Obviousally, some of them didn't spell check before submitting reviews...

"If heroin were a book, this would be it."

"I hope your happy. It's people like you who are so insecure about themselves, that you have to ruin the lives of others. You're a disgrace."
As disrespectful as anyone could get. I don't support you and never will."

"I'm a straight man, but after reading, "Trailer Park Confessions", I would love to party with you."

"I've decided Brian Gibson's type. Two legs and a heart beat. As long as they're married."
